The middle and end of May got a little more hectic than I intended! While life continuously happens around me, I find it harder and harder to spend lots of time on the internet, yet here I am.
One thing that ate a little time, but provided art, was D&D. I had this group back in February and March that inspired me to do some writing and worldbuilding for my characters, even though the DM and I were the only people that were that interested in the finer details. So I have lots of little doodles of my dudes and some backstory narrative written, but the group has been dissolved as of this week. Like I said, the other members just weren't that involved, and that led to the group's inevitable demise. I have another group lined up with mostly newbies, and I'm really excited to see how they rp! I helped some in the character creation process, creating my character alongside the others, but finishing far before anyone else This campaign's character is going to be the grandfather of my previous character, and my previous DM dictated a scene that I had coincidentally sketched out a few days prior with the two characters in it.
For a little more context into the finer details of these characters, the grandfather is a High Moon Elf who left his privileged, silver spoon upbringing to get more in touch with the world. He found a home in a Wood Elf village and made a name for himself as a fletcher in their artisan's guild. He took in a visiting human, traveling to explore culture in an academic light, but the two fell in love, and she settled down with him. They had a daughter, but the regrettably shorter lifespans of humans left the elf a widower and single parent. His daughter became a fighter with a tough, militant outlook who eventually fell for another half-elf that evened her out. The courting process took time, however, as the other half-elf fell for the high elf's daughter long before she would even recognize him as tolerable. The couple had a son that became a renowned marksman and fletcher in his own right, but hated his humanity because of how the other elves treated him as an inferior being. Inspired by his grandson's quest to prove himself worthy to his contemporaries, the high elf sought out to explore the world again, seeking adventure from wherever life would take him.
There's obviously much more to their stories than what I've just written, but as a brief synopsis, that blurb works. For this most recent campaign, I wasn't sure at first if I wanted to play the grandfather or the daughter, but ended up with the grandfather for roleplaying reasons. I wanted to flesh him out, put a face to a name, and further construct the dynamic between grandfather and grandson. The two are undeniably close, but with little more than a name created, their connection felt shallow. I'm really excited to play my high elf.
I've also rolled up a couple other characters for funsies. KakashiDarkness (who is more apt to be found at Tumblr nowadays) thought up a bard that sings raps with a lute, so we created a Tiefling named Mathieu Mattaeus, the Rap God. When I quipped about a Barbarian Gnome, another friend brought the idea further with him having a split personality and one arm. We rolled up Smash and Squish last night.
I've got a few drawings of the high elf and half-elf, but there's a specific drawing I want to finish and post when time allows, inspired by a sketch I ruined at work Hopefully I'll have that done sometime in the next month. No guarantees on that though. vuv;
Until next time!

Well, December fell flat as far as social media was concerned... m'bad! The month was surprisingly busy with not so much the holidays and work, but increased familial presence. I was thankful for the change, but neglected a lot of personal projects in interest of spending time with people, so you win some, you lose some, right? =D
I'm thankful to be ringing in the new year with a new employment opportunity~! I'll still be doing photos, but I've picked up a job at a convenience store as well, and I'm really looking forward to working there. The staff is all super friendly and genuinely seems happy to be there, so I feel like I'll be join

Well, Thanksgiving's come and gone, and December's right around the corner, so what better time to blather!
The holiday itself was nice. For the past few years, much like with birthdays, I spent Thanksgiving working, which meant showing up to family dinners late enough that no food is left and no one wants to interact. This was the second Thanksgiving that I was invited to a coworker's dinner instead, but unlike the first time, it was a lovely experience! My attendance was a matter of confusion as my immediate family was unsure as to what they were doing on the day. They ended up going to family anyway, so I joined my coworker. In prepa

It only took me half a month to fail Inktober! =D
But really. I did actually try to be pretty faithful to sketching something every day, but one day at work was busy enough to knock me right off the bandwagon. Still, some of the ideas were fun enough to revisit at a later point in time that should become available in right around two weeks. When it's slow, I usually sketch things at work anyway, so if I remember, I'll gather up my favorites for an end-of-the-year compilation in a few months. Most of it is poorly executed Vento Aureo stuff right now anyway, so if you're curious, you're not missing much.
Most of my life lately has been wo

With the end of Colossalcon East, so too has my summer come to a close. This has been a summer of music, friendship, and amazement. Even through the overwhelming grip of work with our chronic understaffing, I've achieved a weird balance of mental health and constant activity. As an introvert, that was a painful sentence to write, but one that holds true nonetheless. Coming down from that place has settled me back in the dust of my own mind, and I find that there is a lot of cleaning to be done now that there is time for such trite action.
A brief synopsis of my summer outside of work has been running around to more concerts than I've eve
